Out to Learn Willow provides both living willow and dried willow workshops for adults, children and young people within a variety of educational and community settings.
We work with:
- Primary Schools
- Secondary Schools
- Community Groups
- Youth Services
- Other voluntary and statutory agencies
- Public Event Organisers
We specialise in helping schools or community groups to develop their outdoor spaces using living willow structures or dried willow sculptures that naturally enhance school grounds or public places. We also offer a design and build service.
Our workshops are fun for both adults and children who love the hands-on experience of learning the ancient craft of willow weaving and taking a project home with them.
Based in South Wales, we run a variety of willow courses throughout the year from planting a living willow structure to the wonderful traditional skill of basketmaking.
We planted 12,000 willow saplings last winter, trained 320 teachers and worked with over 3500 children.
Loved the Christmas Craft course today and can’t believe how much we made. The house will look great this year and has got me in the festive spirit. The mulled wine and mince pies were a welcome sight at 3pm.
I really am hooked and can highly recommend willow weaving to everyone. Have just booked my place on Hedgerow Hoops and Hearts in February. Can’t wait
Thank you Clare & Mel – you made me realise I do have some artistic talent !!
